The trenchless construction of an air cushion siphon under the Enz and the Nagold, commissioned by the Pforzheim city drainage (ESP), was awarded two prestigious prizes at both national and international levels. The executing construction company for this 16-million-euro project was SONNTAG Baugesellschaft. The branch in Bingen was responsible for the underground pipe jacking in diameters of 1400, 1600, and 2200 and also provided the engineering work from a single source.
The Enz siphon received the “Big Project and BGreen Award" in the category of “Water Protection”. The award is presented annually in Dubai and honors special construction measures in the fields of “Construction” and “Sustainability”.
The second award was the GSTT Award in Gold, which honors outstanding projects in trenchless construction. For SONNTAG, this was already the third GSTT award as a project partner. “A remarkable record, with which we have given ourselves a nice Christmas gift,” said the credo of the SONNTAG Group on the occasion of the award ceremony at the “Dortmund Renovation Days” in early December.
