The RheinEnergie AG plans the connection of the drinking water networks on the left and right banks of the Rhine. For this purpose, the SONNTAG Baugesellschaft is producing a new pipeline under the Rhine in a joint venture. The core of the construction measure is a pipe jacking with a length of 727 m and a diameter of DN 2000 / DA 2400, which will be executed using the microtunnelling method. The specialist deep foundation work for the creation of the starting and target excavation was carried out in advance by SONNTAG as in-house work. After the completion of the pipeline tunnel, the insertion and integration of a drinking water transport pipeline DN 700 will take place.
