2019

In quiet mourning and full of gratitude, we had to say goodbye to our senior manager Josef Sonntag, who passed away in February 2019. He led the fortunes of the SONNTAG group from 1959 to 1996 with foresight and great courage, and promoted our good reputation as an innovative construction company with great enthusiasm.

With great dismay, we also had to say goodbye in September to our highly esteemed senior manager, Trudi Sonntag. Together with her husband, Josef Sonntag, she built the SONNTAG group with diligence, foresight, passion, and tolerance over decades. She was a wonderful woman and an extraordinary personality, a person with a big heart for the family and for the company.

They will both remain unforgettable to us.

2021

With great dismay and deep sorrow, we had to say goodbye in August to our highly esteemed managing director Bernd Sonntag, who unexpectedly passed away at the age of 61 after a short, severe illness.

Since 1996, Bernd Sonntag, together with his sister Marion, led the SONNTAG group as managing partner with skill and foresight. His charisma, fair and objective manner, and his human approach in all matters, always for the benefit of the entire group, distinguished him and established the high regard and appreciation he enjoyed among our customers, business partners, and employees alike.

Bernd Sonntag successfully led the group and expanded its good reputation as an innovative construction company with great enthusiasm. He demonstrated foresight and courage, consistently bringing the company up to the latest standards of progress and technology. His tireless commitment, combined with an exceptionally high social responsibility for his employees, shaped his life as an entrepreneur. His work will continue to provide important impulses for the SONNTAG group in the future.

With our “boss,” we lose a strong personality whom we liked and respected very much. We are grateful for the time we shared and mourn a wonderful person who will be greatly missed by us.
