Pipe jacking

Range of Services

Pipe jacking is a special construction method to install or replace sewage or supply pipes with diameters ranging from DN 150 mm to DN 3600 mm underground and accurately.

Underground pipe jacking is the solution for high traffic volumes, confined space conditions, and valuable building substances.

SONNTAG is one of the pioneers in the field of pipe jacking in Germany. We have been using the technology of underground installation of sewer pipes since 1986 and today work with the experience of over 500 projects in Germany and Europe. With us, everything from project preparation to machine equipment to the execution of the construction measure is in one hand, including the construction of the press and target pits. We maintain our own workshop specialized in pipe jacking for the maintenance of the machines and can react without delay when changing geological conditions require a conversion.

Our Jacking Spectrum

  • Microtunnelling (VD) DN 250 – 3400, compressed air or earth pressure
  • Partial cutting (VOD) DN 1200 – 3600, also under compressed air
  • Curve drives up to the space curve
  • New installation and replacement of pressure pipelines
  • Crossing
  • Direct-Pipe
  • Pilot pipe jacking (VP) DN 150 - 600
  • Tunnel construction
  • Pipe-Eating

The Advantages of Underground Pipe Jacking

  • Shorter construction times
  • Weather-independent work
  • Extremely low space and resource requirements
  • Pipe installation at great depths
  • No costly foundation reinforcements
  • No groundwater lowering, minimizing settlement risks
  • No soil exchange, intact surface
  • Minimal earth movements and emissions
  • Direct connection of house connections
  • Press and target pit shafts later usable for entry or technical structures
  • Minimal impact on residents, traffic, and the environment
  • Less construction site traffic and noise
  • Thicker-walled pipes (longer lifespan)
