If there is no groundwater we operate in partial section with open shield, the lower-cost
alternative of the subterranean tunnelling. With it we realise several tunnel-profiles
in diverse geologies and obtain high driving performance. We work either with excavator-technology
or with cutter picks.
SONNTAG realise projects with manned shield driving where other firms use the extensive
microtunnelling because we are in a position to use partial section under compressed
air. We use this technology if we have groundwater or incalculable obstacle make
the use of microtunnelling-machines a cost-effective risk.
